Employee Resource Groups

Promoting Employee Engagement and Development

Sponsoring Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) is one way Schwab demonstrates its commitment to diversity and inclusion. ERGs champion Schwab's effort of being the Company of Choice for talent and investors from diverse communities. They contribute to engagement, talent attraction and retention by promoting a greater understanding of diversity, supporting employees from diverse backgrounds, and fostering teamwork. ERGs contribute to employee development by providing hands-on opportunities to develop and refine skills in areas such as influencing without authority, developing and presenting a business case to leadership, motivating and communicating with others, and managing cross-functional teams and projects. ERGs also align with Schwab's growth initiatives by contributing to business development and supporting investor education for the diverse communities the company serves. Some of the activities ERGs have organized are:

  • The Black Professional Association of Charles Schwab (BPACS) has been partnering with the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) since 2007 for their Leadership Development Series.
  •

  • Since 2008, the Women’s Interactive Network at Schwab (WINS) has been partnering with San Francisco-based career development firm, RAL & Associates, to launch “When She Speaks”, a monthly leadership development series open to Bay Area professionals.
  •

  • Schwab Network of Asian Professionals (SNAP) and Schwab Organization of Latinos (SOL) hosted a 2009 Investor Education Forum with diverse professional organizations such as the National Association of Asian American Professionals, National Society of Hispanic MBAs, and cross company ERGs.
