Schwab employees make a difference in their communities through volunteerism, special programs and matching gifts.
- Schwab Volunteer Day: An annual, national employee volunteer day which celebrates Schwab values, expressed by the acronym FERSTT: Fairness, Empathy, Responsiveness, Striving, Teamwork and Trust. Employees share their stories, photos and video of the most recent Schwab Volunteer Day. Employees also volunteer their time throughout the year to aid thousands of community organizations.
- Events and Drives: Schwab employees help organize companywide drives to collect food, clothing, toys and school supplies. In addition, employees give time and money to support walk-a-thons, cycling events and other fund-raising events.
Through the Employee Matching Gifts Program, Charles Schwab Foundation matches employee gifts of $25 or more, dollar for dollar, up to $1,000 per employee during each calendar year. More than a third of Schwab employees participated last year, with the foundation matching their stock or monetary donations. Employees and board members contributed to more than 2,200 charitable organizations for a combined total of close to $3 million in foundation matching grants and donations.
