Volunteer Stories

"The most memorable and inspiring moment during Schwab Volunteer Day this year –  and every year that I've been involved –  was seeing the dedication, selflessness and love that people have toward helping others in need. I feel like we make a big difference, but the people who truly deserve to be recognized are the ones who dedicate their lives to these worthy causes. Meeting those people who sacrifice day in and day out for a cause they believe in is absolutely inspiring, and it has encouraged me to do more in my community and find more time in my life to give back."

"Our team grows larger each year, and this year we also saw an increased number of Schwabbies who participated by making a contribution even if they were unable to attend...  I'm grateful to work for a company that believes in helping out so many wonderful causes."

Climb California

Twenty-two Schwab employees climbed 1,197 steps to the top floor of 555 California Street in San Francisco to benefit the American Lung Association of California.

"It was definitely intimidating standing outside in the plaza looking up at the building...I had butterflies in my stomach but so did everyone. It was the first time that I met the group and all of us had the same determination...we were going to finish it no matter how long it takes. That was a motivator for me."
