Schwab designates one day in May as Schwab Volunteer Day, giving employees time off from work to volunteer for community nonprofits.
During the most recent Schwab Volunteer Day, more than 1,600 employees spent over 6,080 hours working at 76 community service projects. Schwab employees volunteered in: Austin; Denver; Indianapolis; Orlando; Phoenix; Raleigh, N.C.; Richfield, Ohio; and San Francisco.
Participating in Volunteer Day in the capacity of educating children was a great experience and turned out to be more valuable than I had imagined it would be.

Schwab Volunteer Day is a celebration of Schwab values: Fairness, Empathy, Responsiveness, Striving, Teamwork and Trust. Schwab employees also help community organizations year-round by volunteering their time, serving on nonprofit boards and making financial contributions that qualify for the employee matching gifts program.
Twice I have volunteered at Easter Seals camp during Schwab Volunteer Day. Each time there were different people from different departments throughout Schwab. Everyone had this amazing work ethic to accomplish the tasks given. People were happy, joking and, most importantly, working. Volunteering with a group of people so willing to work hard and with an abundance of caring made the experiences so wonderful. What a great day. I will volunteer every year.
