Volunteer Week

Schwab designates one week in May as Schwab Volunteer Week, giving employees time off from work to volunteer for community nonprofits. In 2009, employees donated thousands of hours of work to benefit community service projects in Austin, Denver, Indianapolis, Orlando, Phoenix, Raleigh, Richfield, Ohio, and the San Francisco bay area.
The Austin Nature & Science Center was one of the organizations that received volunteer help this year. "Our team was very interested in doing an activity that was environmentally based," said Jacki Ladd, a technical analyst. "During our time at the ANSC, there were many groups of children touring the center and there were lots of 'thank yous' to our group for helping out."
