During Schwab Volunteer Week in May, thousands of Schwab employees receive time off to volunteer for community nonprofits.
During Schwab Volunteer Week, thousands of employees receive a paid half-day to volunteer for nearly 150 projects for nonprofits such as:
- Boys & Girls Clubs of America
- Dress for Success
- Habitat for Humanity
- Junior Achievement
- Larkin Street Youth Services
- LifeWorks
- Urban Roots
Many projects focus on helping the underserved improve their financial well-being. In addition to leading financial education workshops, volunteers also help remodel and paint shelters, serve food and work on community beautification.
Charles Schwab Foundation also donates a minimum $500 grant to organizations where a Schwab Volunteer Week project is held.
"This year’s Volunteer Week was inspired by our collective passion here at Schwab to break down barriers for people and help them attain financial well-being. Whether it’s leading a workshop on financial basics at a local Boys & Girls Club or helping Habitat for Humanity build a home for a family in need, our goal is to make a difference in as many people’s lives as we can."
— Carrie Schwab-Pomerantz, President, Charles Schwab Foundation
