Michael Iachini is responsible for conducting quantitative mutual fund research that supports Schwab’s Mutual Fund Marketplace® and Mutual Fund OneSource® platform. He performs quantitative research into predictors of mutual fund performance and assists in running the Schwab Center for Financial Research mutual fund rating system.
Iachini writes original research articles about exchange-traded funds for Schwab investor newsletters and for schwab.com.
Prior to joining Schwab in 2004, Iachini was a quantitative investment systems analyst for the State Board of Administration of Florida, which manages the pension fund for State of Florida employees. He was responsible for analyzing investment manager performance, selecting new fund managers and creating computer tools to help analyze funds. Previously, he was research assistant and university fellow in the Florida State University department of economics.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in international affairs with a minor in mathematics and Master of Science degree in economics with coursework toward a Doctorate in Philosophy in economics from Florida State University. He is a member of the CFA Institute.
