Jeff Mortimer is responsible for investment oversight and policy for Charles Schwab Investment Management, Inc. (CSIM). He oversees approximately $240 billion in equity and fixed income funds, money market funds, index funds and separate accounts for Schwab Funds® and Laudus Funds™.
Mortimer provides economic and financial market analysis for CSIM portfolio managers and is a member of Schwab’s Investment Strategy Council, which defines broad asset allocation guidelines for the firm’s investor base. Additionally, he serves as president of Laudus Funds.
Before joining Schwab in October 1997, Mortimer was chief investment officer at Higgins Associates, Inc. Prior to joining Higgins, he was employed by Gannett, Welsh & Kotler, a money management firm in Boston
Mortimer earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Babson College and a Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in finance from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and a member of the Security Analyst Society of San Francisco.
