Bryan Olson's areas of expertise include goal-oriented investing strategies, risk-reduction techniques and portfolio analysis. He leads Schwab's portfolio consulting team consisting of 400-plus financial professionals who partner with clients holding combined assets of more than $40 billion. His team helps clients create all-weather, diversified portfolios to stay on track to achieve their financial goals. Previously, Olson led teams that trained Schwab investment professionals, and he managed the Schwab Center for Financial Research team that produced the Schwab Mutual Fund OneSource Select List®.


Olson's work can be found in audiocasts, articles and charts that give individual investors clear, actionable advice. His views and analyses of investment issues have been cited in media throughout the country, including The Wall Street Journal, Investor's Business Daily, Financial Times, BusinessWeek, CNBC, SmartMoney and others. He is a frequent speaker at investing forums for Schwab clients.

 

Prior to joining Schwab in 1996, he spent seven years as a research analyst for an investment advisory firm.

 

Olson earned his bachelor's degree in finance from Weber State University. He  is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and holds multiple securities licenses.
