James D. Peterson leads the Quantitative Analysis group at the Schwab Center for Financial Research. He is a frequent contributor to Market Insight on schwab.com, and his more recent research findings can be found in a variety of media.
Peterson has been published in several leading academic and professional journals including: Journal of Financial Planning, Journal of Portfolio Management, Financial Analysts Journal, Financial Management, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking as well as The Journal of Investing, where he has served as an associate editor.
Prior to joining Schwab, Peterson and was an assistant professor at the University of Notre Dame. He was voted “Outstanding Teacher” in BusinessWeek’s “Guide to the Best Business Schools” in 1997.
He received his Ph.D. in finance from Louisiana State University.
