Mark W. Riepe is head of the Schwab Center for Financial Research, the division of Schwab charged with leading the firm's research efforts in the areas of equity, mutual fund and market analysis, financial planning and investment policy.
Prior to joining Schwab, Riepe spent seven years as a vice president with Ibbotson Associates, a Chicago-based consulting firm, and four years at GNP Commodities specializing in financial futures and options research.
Since 1999, Riepe has been a regular columnist for the Journal of Financial Planning and was formerly editor of the Pension Investment Handbook. He has authored numerous studies on various investment topics that have appeared as book chapters and in top practitioner publications, such as Financial Analysts Journal and Journal of Portfolio Management.
Riepe earned his Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University of Chicago and his Master of Business Administration degree in finance from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
