Market and sector analysis
Brad Sorensen is managing director, market and sector analysis for the Schwab Center for Financial Research (SCFR). In this role, Brad is responsible for analyzing the effects of economic and market factors on specific market sectors. He writes corresponding research reports and articles for use by Schwab representatives and clients. Sorensen is also a member of Schwab’s Asset Allocation Council, which defines broad asset allocation guidelines for the firm’s investor base and provides sector, industry and stock recommendations to the chief investment officer.
Before joining Schwab in 2004, he was a senior analyst at AMG Guaranty Trust, where he designed portfolio strategies for high-net-worth individuals.
Sorensen has appeared on CNBC and has been widely quoted in financial publications such as Bloomberg-Business Week, CNBC.com, Money Magazine, the New York Times, Reuters, and The Wall Street Journal.
Sorensen earned a bachelor's degree in finance and master's degrees in business administration and finance from the University of Colorado. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)® charterholder.
