Schwab and food-service partner Eurest pay it forward during the pandemic

August 4, 2020

Many companies have found unique and flexible ways to remodel their businesses during the Covid-19 pandemic, but perhaps none more so than the food-service industry. Whether it’s your favorite fine dining establishment or coffee to-go from your neighborhood café, our favorite haunts are working hard to provide much-needed services during this difficult time.

That’s no different for one of Schwab’s food-service partners, Eurest, which provides food and catering services at the majority of the firm’s locations across the country. With the full support of Schwab and use of the firm’s facilities and equipment, Eurest employees are doing their part to provide food and nourishment to those in need in their communities.

In Denver, the Eurest team members are committed to delivering 150 meals a week to guests of the Ronald McDonald House, which provides free lodging to families with children who need in-patient treatment at area hospitals.  In Phoenix, Leilani and her team created meals that fed hospital workers in area emergency rooms, and sack lunches for local non-profit St. Vincent de Paul, who provides support for those in need.

In San Francisco, they also created boxed lunches to share with elderly people in the area that needed meals. Finally, and no less importantly, in Indianapolis, teams worked together to donate meals and care packages to senior-living centers and homeless shelters.

Cooper quote

“It’s truly inspiring to see our Eurest partners engage in their communities and use their chefs and expert food service skills to provide for those in need during this difficult time. At Schwab, we’re proud to support their work through the use of our facilities around the country and want to honor the great work of their dedicated employees.”

Eurest has also pivoted to serve its Schwab patrons as well. At multiple locations around the firm, Schwab cafes are serving nutritious and fun take-away meal kits for employees to bring home to their families. Eurest chefs have developed everything form make your own pizza kits to celebratory feasts for the Easter and Cinco de Mayo holidays.

“Although I’m not in our office every day during the pandemic, it’s been a treat to bring home easy, fun-to-make and tasty meals with family,” says Beth Gambaro, who lead’s the firm’s property-management team and is also mom of two in Westlake, Texas. “It’s been really great to get my young kids involved in the kitchen as well.”
