The Schwab Financial Consultant Academy is a developmental rotational program that prepares individuals for a career as a financial consultant in one of our branches.
Our Schwab Financial Consultant Academy seeks out high-performing candidates to prepare for a consultative role in one of our branches.
The rotational program takes place over 18 to 24 months and is based in one of our major service centers. Through the Schwab Financial Consultant Academy, you will:
Gain a valuable head start to your career
Have an opportunity to sit for and must pass qualifying exams
Experience the securities industry firsthand as part of a service center team
Learn how to provide world-class service to clients over the phone while building market expertise in preparation for building individual client relationships
Coach consultative skills through a needs-based process to provide helpful and relevant solutions to clients
Benefit from a hands-on manager, a current Financial Consultant as your mentor and a former Financial Consultant as your coach
Develop presentation skills through practice and cohort feedback
Practice effective conversations through mock client sessions
Ideal candidates will:
Exhibit strong academic performance and have received a bachelor’s degree (or be on track to graduate from college before the program start date)
Show serious interest in the financial services industry as a long-term career
Demonstrate emotional intelligence and relationship-building skills
Have some prior work or internship experience
Possess leadership capabilities
Be ambitious, disciplined, hardworking, resilient and willing to learn
Candidates for the Schwab Financial Consultant Academy will be screened via an assessment and an interview process. Successful academy graduates will be offered a position at one of Schwab's branches with locations nationwide.
