Joe Vietri is a Managing Director and Head of Digital Assets at Charles Schwab. In this role, he is responsible for executing the firm’s enterprise-wide digital asset strategy, including cryptocurrencies, tokenized assets, and blockchain-based solutions. Joe leads cross-functional teams to drive innovation, manage risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver new digital asset products and services aligned with Schwab’s long-term strategic goals.
Since joining Schwab in 1994, Joe has held a wide range of leadership roles across the firm. Prior to his current role, Joe led Schwab’s branch network organization, overseeing more than 4,000 employees and approximately 400 branch locations nationwide. He was responsible for retail sales, relationship management, and franchise operations. Earlier, Joe served as Chief Executive Officer of optionsXpress, a subsidiary of The Charles Schwab Corporation. Joe also previously led Advisor Services Trading and Operations and held roles leading Specialty Sales & Investor Business Development teams for active traders and fixed income. In addition to his extensive leadership experience, Joe also held a variety of client-facing positions within the Retail enterprise.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and has completed FINRA licensing for Series 3, 7, 34, 63, and 24.
