Tim Heier
Tim is responsible for technology strategy and architecture, cybersecurity, and development of client-facing applications for retail and institutional business units, including trading technology, and core middleware and share application services used by technology teams throughout the firm. He also works with Schwab's Chief Information Officer and business leaders on the company's long-term technology strategy.
Prior to his current role, Tim was Senior Vice President of Schwab Advisor Services™ Technology and Mobile Development. He has held multiple positions since joining Schwab in 1999.
Before Schwab, Tim worked as a computer scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, founded a startup firm, and held positions at two engineering consulting firms, Parsons Brinckerhoff and Barton Ashman & Associates.
Tim earned a master’s degree in computer science from California State University at Hayward. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
