Celebrating Father’s Day: Meet the Wissman Schwamily

June 16, 2021
In honor of Father’s Day, we want to introduce you to a father/son duo who share many important qualities, including a love of serving Schwab clients. Meet Brial and son Adam.

One of the most important values in Schwab’s culture is Schwamily. And in honor of Father’s Day, we wanted to introduce you to a father/son duo who share many important qualities, including a love of serving Schwab clients. Meet Brial and son Adam.

Question: Nice to meet you both. Tell us about your work here at the firm?

Brial: I’ve been with Schwab almost 20 years, although in two separate stints. I started at Schwab in 1993 in the branch manager training program where my first role was as branch manager in Columbus, Ohio. Several roles followed thereafter, the last being as a regional vice president. That was relatively short-lived though, as I became a casualty of business “right-sizing” in 2004. Fortune smiled upon me again in 2012, and I rejoined the branch network where I’m currently the Indiana Branches Leader.

Adam: I started as a Schwab intern in Richfield, Ohio. During my internship, I was thrilled to get an offer for the Financial Consultant Academy in Colorado at our Lone Tree complex. After finishing the program, I journeyed cross-country and joined the Walnut Creek branch team as an AFC. Recently, I accepted a financial consultant role and moved back to Denver.

Question: What do you each like about working at Schwab?

Brial: Our success over the years has been extraordinary and it has been exciting and a privilege to be a part of that story. The core values Chuck set as a foundation for our firm almost 50 years ago and that Walt has reinforced through today has us positioned for even more. We’ve been able to change and adapt with the world and our clients while integrating technology like no one else.

Adam: What stands out to me about working for Schwab is how amazing our leadership is. I’ve been fortunate to have terrific managers at the firm who’ve focused on helping me grow and succeed while making sure we always put the client first.

Question: What do you like about working together here?

Adam: I think it’s awesome to work at the same company as my father. While our paths do not cross often, it has been great to have him there for advice and support along the way. (Though he has always encouraged me to find my own path here at Schwab, which I really appreciate!)

Brial: I feel proud and fortunate to have a son working here, and speaking as a long-time Schwabbie, I feel even better about what he can bring to his new clients!
