Paul V. Woolway, Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer, Charles Schwab Bank

Paul is responsible for the overall management of Schwab’s Banking and Trust Services enterprise including strategy, product management, credit, and regulatory oversight. 

Paul also serves as the chief executive officer and is on the board of directors for Schwab’s three affiliate state savings banks which offer retail, high net worth, and business banking services—including lending solutions and deposit products such as checking and savings accounts and certificates of deposit. He also serves as chairman of the firm’s two trust companies which offer investment management and administrative custody services for trust clients and independent registered investment advisors.

Prior to joining Schwab, Paul served as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at Bank of the West. Before joining Bank of the West, he served as a financial services industry consultant with Arthur Andersen/Accenture and KPMG, where he provided strategic and operational consulting services to major financial services companies throughout the world.

Paul received his degree in accounting from Loyola Marymount University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of California.
